Welcome, Dog Lovers!

When I first embarked on the journey that would become Dogs In Training our goal was a simple one.  To provide affordable and individual training services and solutions to owners facing "problem behaviours" - based on the unique situation and requirements of each dog/owner team rather than any single methodology.

With over a decade of experience training animals (including dogs and cats for commercials and even a movie as well as five years rehabilitating rescued dogs and parrots) one thing became clear; too many people were spending too much money on (or were unable to afford) weeks of classes or expensive individual consultations - many of which failed to produce the results the owners were searching for and led to dogs being surrendered to shelters and rescues, or even euthanized.

The solution to this growing problem was to create an inexpensive and personal approach to training and behaviour modification that utilizes a combination of methods tailored to each specific case.

Using this tailored approach, we have achieved an excellent success rate that speaks for itself - many times where others have failed.  (Future posts will discuss individual cases)

To promote our balanced training techniques I started a Facebook page which has allowed us to expand our business and share information with the general public, and our clients a forum to share and discuss their experiences.

However, Facebook's limitations have driven us to discover new ways to share knowledge and experience in a more detailed fashion.  One of these solutions is this blog, through which we hope to explore various methodologies and case studies and further promote our balanced approach.

Our ultimate goal is to keep dogs in their homes while enhancing the relationship between dogs and their owners.  Email advice is always free, as are online assessments.  We charge only for our on-site hands on work, the length and frequency of which is decided based on the individual situation and needs of the client.  Best of all, we are available days, nights and weekends to suit YOUR schedule.

Hopefully this blog will be a forum for discussion and learning, both for my clients and for myself.  If you have a topic you would like to see covered, please don't hesitate to email me or post your suggestions here.  We can be reached at dogsintraining.hamilton@gmail.com.
